Benefits to Support Your Journey:

The Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship ensures comprehensive support for successful applicants. The program covers tuition fees, alleviating the financial burden of studying abroad. Moreover, students receive an accommodation allowance, assisting with living expenses during their stay in Hungary. Health insurance coverage is also provided, prioritizing the well-being of scholars.

Financial Considerations and Living Costs:

While the scholarship covers tuition fees and provides an accommodation allowance, it’s important to note that living costs are not fully covered. We strongly advise calculating the cost of living in your chosen university/college city before finalizing your application. This will enable you to plan your finances effectively. However, scholarship recipients are permitted to seek part-time employment opportunities to supplement their financial resources and meet their needs.

A Step-by-Step Application Process:

Step 1: Application on HEC Website: Commence the application process by submitting an online application on the HEC (Higher Education Commission) website. Register and complete your profile, ensuring accurate information. Select the “Hungaricum Scholarship Program” option and submit your application. Don’t forget to print a copy of your application for signature, as it will be required at a later stage.

Step 2: Application on Stipendium Hungaricum Portal: Once you’ve completed the application on the HEC website, proceed to the Stipendium Hungaricum portal. Apply online, carefully selecting your desired university/college and relevant program based on HEC’s approved courses. Upload all the required documents, including your final degrees or transcripts. If you’re awaiting final results, indicate your intention to submit them before August 1, 2023, on the portal.

Step 3: USAT/HAT Test on HEC ETC Portal: To complete your application, you must provide your USAT (University Scholastic Aptitude Test) scores for bachelor’s degree programs or HAT (Hungary Admission Test) scores for master’s, MPhil, or PhD programs. Achieving a minimum score of 50 out of 100 is necessary for consideration. If you have already taken the respective test on or after January 1, 2022, you can submit your scores. For those yet to take the test, register on the HEC ETC (Education Testing Council) portal, pay the required fee, and select your preferred test center.

  1. I’m mother of 2 toddlers. I’ve applied for HAT for getting fully funded scholarship for Phd English. I want to ask if I would be allowed to take my kids along with me in case I get a selection for Hungarian scholarship. Or which type of scholarship is suitable in my case.

    1. Yes if you apply their visa on your own and will bear your kids expense on your own. The benefit of Hungaricum scholarship is that you are allowed to work there along with your funded studies and you could apply for citizenship there also.

    1. There is no specific age limit and HAT is the test by HEC if you are applying for Masters, Mphil or PHD. It will be 100 marks MCQs based test which is like general aptitude test or NTS test. Moreover you can see detail in Test categories in Step 3 of How to Apply section of this article.
